Dental Board to Begin Auditing License Holders

Massachusetts Board of Registration in Dentistry initiative effective January 1, 2016, is random audits of individual license holders for Continuing Education Credit (CE/CEU) compliance. As you know, you are required to maintain documentation of the CEUs you have taken for each renewal cycle. Licensees selected at random will shortly begin receiving correspondence from the Board requesting documentation of the CEU compliance you listed on your last license renewal application.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING CEU COMPLIANCE: 

Beginning July 1, 2016, the Board and the DHPL Office of Public Protection will begin random audits of all licensed dentists for compliance with 234 CMR 8.00, the Board’s regulations on continuing education.  Each licensed dentist seeking renewal of their license to practice in the Commonwealth is required to complete continuing education as a condition precedent to such renewal.  A dentist licensed to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth pursuant to M.G.L. c. 112, § 45 must complete a minimum of 40 CEUs per renewal cycle.
